The asphalt route starts from the Stadium area and heads towards Usturoiului Valley, until the last house. From here we go on the forest road that goes up, we pass by the abandoned Usturoiul Chalet and we reach the barrier located next to the Usturoiul 2 Chalet. After crossing the barrier, we turn left and go up the winding forest road until we reach the top where, at the entrance to the forest, the road turns right and we begin to descend through the forest to Ulmoasa. We pass through Ulmoasa (descending on asphalt) and we cross the bridge toward Băița. We take the road through Băița towards Tauții Măgherăuș and we turn left, we cross the river on the Cota bridge on the street no. 4 and we go straight on an unpaved road, which passes through the houses and then climbs slightly. When there’s no other houses in sight, we turn right and follow the road that crosses the former orchard and reaches Apa Sărată. We turn right on the paved road to the intersection with the road toward Dru Relax, from where we turn left, pass Dru Relax and climb straight to the top of the hill. From here we turn left on the ridge, towards the forest, passing an old abandoned house, located on the right side of the road and past some vineyards, after which we enter the forest. From the forest we take the second road on the right and go down next to the fence of a house, to the spring in Borcutului Valley. From the spring we turn right towards Baia Mare and then on the second road on the left (after an old house covered with brown and yellow ceramic tiles). The road climbs steeply to the last house, where we turn right and go up the cobbled road until we reach the asphalt on Miron Costin street. From here we descend to Victoriei street.  

Degree of difficulty - easy Minimum equipment - hiking boots Warnings - do not approach the route accompanied by very young children. Beware of the collapse of old mining galleries in the area. At the top of the descent, watch out for loose stones. Water sources - there are no drinking water sources in the area Points of interest - the view from the top of  Dealul Crucii. Depending on the season, wild garlic, mushrooms or chestnuts can be collected here. Condition of the route - the route consists of forest roads and paths The route starts from Baia Mare, on 16 Februarie Street. If you are driving, you can leave the car in front of the last house on the right, where the asphalt ends. The road enters the forest and winds its way up. Depending on the season, one can find wild garlic (March-April), mushrooms or chestnuts (late autumn). We continue the climb until we reach a steeper slope, at the top of which we intersect another road. Here you will find a commemorative metal cross. Then we turn left and continue uphill, admiring the ridge of the hill on the left side. Halfway up the hill, the road turns left, entering a level curve. We keep going up this road that leads us under the Dealul Crucii Peak. At one point, when the stone peak of Dealul Crucii appears to our left, we will intersect with a path that climbs steeply to the top, which is used by enduro motorcyclists. Once at the top, one can admire the wonderful panoramic views over the city of Baia Mare, but although we are at the highest point of the route, the most beautiful views are found few tens of meters further, on the ridge facing the city, where is erected a  wooden cross. To descend, we return to the top and start coming down, on a path that descends winding in the opposite direction to the one we used to reach the top. Move with great care and attention to the fellow travelers, because the slope is very steep and there are loose rocks on the ground. After leaving the top behind and the slope becomes easier to walk on, we soon reach an intersection with a road, where we turn right and continue the descent until we reach the road on which we started the route. Degree of difficulty - easy Minimum equipment - hiking boots Water sources - there are no sources of drinking water on the route Points of interest - Tolvaj Denes Peak view (Piatra Tâlharului) Route condition - the route consists of streets, unpaved roads and a path The route starts from Baia Mare on Valea Roșie street, from the entrance area to Regina Maria Park (Athos restaurant/kiddie train). In front of that entrance, we go up Valea Roșie street to Măgura restaurant, on the asphalt road, for about 900m. Before the house with number 205, which is on the left side of the asphalt road on Valea Roșie street, we enter the path that goes to the top of Tolvaj Denes Peak. From here there will be about another 900m of trail. From the house with number 205 go up the path for a distance of about 600m. The path is well-maintained/walked on, being used by the locals. After 600m on the path, we reach a glade, where the last inhabited house is located. There are ahead only 300m of path through the forest, following the route marked with the BLUE CROSS. At the top of the trail, before reaching the top, the path is steeper, so be careful not to slip. The path is winding, therefore support sticks are required. We warn you that once you reach the top, you should not approach the steep edge, in order to avoid the risk of an accident.
