Vișeu de Sus Mountain Rescue Base (Salvamont)

The refuge is located in the Izvoare -Poiana Soarelui resort, offering working conditions to mountain rescuers on preventive patrol, covering the Igniș area, with related mountain tourist routes and ski slopes.  The refuge is structured on two parts:  • -the old section- having its origin from the years '77-78, mountain rescue point, offered by the County Hospital;  • -the expansion of the refuge – the construction began in 2004. The building offers the possibility of overnight stay in 3 shared bedrooms for 12-15 mountain rescuers and has a spacious kitchen and living room.  The activities carried out in the area, depending on the season, are: hiking, climbing / escalate, paragliding, training / sports training stages both during the summer and in the cold season, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing.  *Source: https://www.salvamontmaramures.ro/baze-salvamont

The Salvamont Mogoșa Chalet is located in Baia Sprie, on strada George Coşbuc nr. 126, in the immediate vicinity of Lake Bodi – Mogoşa. The chalet is endowed with special technical equipment for rescue, climbing (carabiners, dynamic and static ropes, locks, cordelins, pulleys), uniforms and work equipment of mountain rescuers (skis, ski boots, winter and summer clothing), communication system, a first aid point, equipped with sanitary consumables and medical rescue equipment (defibrillators, cervical collars, splints) to accommodate the injured persons until the arrival of ambulances,  specific professional equipment, 1 UTV, winch and UT stretchers for rescue, medical trailers, etc. *Source: https://www.salvamontmaramures.ro/baze-salvamont 

The Maramures Mountain Rescue County Public Service (Salvamont) was established in 2018 and is subordinated to the Maramures County Council, aiming at preventing mountain accidents and carrying out search-and-rescue missions in the mountains. In the over 600 rescue actions carried out, the mountain rescuers within this structure proved that they are part of an elite public service, being anywhere and anytime, always present for the safety of the people of Maramures and of the visitors of the county.
