The wooden church "Saint Nicholas" from Săliștea de Sus, Nistorești

Located at the foot of Gârgalău Peak, at an altitude of over 1650 meters, Știol Lake is a glacial lake, around which springs the upper course of the river Bistrița, known as Golden Bistrița (Bistrița Aurie). The Știol Lake can be reached by following several routes that start from the area of ​​the Borșa Tourist Resort. 

Nistru Lake in Tăuții Măgherăuș is an artificial lake, on the shore of which visitors can camp in tents or camping houses and where they can enjoy sport fishing. For those who love hiking, the landscape is magnificent, the lake being surrounded by a beautiful beech forest. Even mushroom connoisseurs are welcome here, as the mature beech trees shelter various species of edible mushrooms. Fishing is possible on any side of the lake, at the dedicated fish stalls. The fish species found here are: carp, catfish and pikeperch.

The picturesque lake in the Rodna Mountains, famous for its shape that resembles the map of Romania, is located at an altitude of 1825 m height. Spread over an area of ​​3450 m2, the clear blue lake originates from two natural springs. Above the lake sits Pietrosu Peak, at an altitude of 2303 meters, which is also the highest peak of the Eastern Carpathians.

The Firiza dam is located 10 km from Baia Mare, in a coniferous and deciduous forest, on the road to Izvoare Resort. The dam has a height of 51.5 m and a crest of wave length of 260 m. It was built for water supply, electricity generation and flood mitigation. Tourists can go hiking around the lake or in the surrounding forest or explore the beauty of the dam, practicing water sports on boats, water bikes or kayaks. For fishing enthusiasts, the Firiza dam offers different species of fish, such as: carp, catfish, trout, bream, chub, crucian carp and pikeperch. Warning! Fishermen need a fishing permit. Being a dam, swimming is prohibited.

Located at an altitude of about 730 m, the Bodi Lake - Mogoșa initially served the proper functioning of the mines in the area. The artificial lake at the foot of Mogoșa Peak covers an area of ​​four hectares, being a favorite place for hikers, both in the cold season, due to the proximity to the ski slopes, and in the warm season, when it offers many leisure opportunities. 

The monumental spindle on Babelor Hill is about 14 meters long and was made of oak wood by craftsman Petru Godja. This objective pays homage to the bravery of the women who withstood the Tartars in the 1717 invasion. On the four sides of the spindle, four figures of women can be seen, who embody the warrior woman, the hardworking woman, the mother and the widow, in an attempt to capture the personalities of the local brave women who defended their community.

The non-ferrous metals flotation dates from around 1810-1820, being part of the industrial heritage of the town of Cavnic. Although so far no solutions have been found for the tourist capitalization of the elements of industrial technology from Cavnic, the old technological archetypes that have survived are of particular historical importance.

With a total length of 36 km, of which 25 km make up a nature reserve, the Lăpuș Gorge or Strait impresses with its canyon-like appearance and rocky ridges, the area being as wild as it is beautiful. The biological diversity, the exquisite landscape, as well as the possibilities of practicing extreme sports, make the Lăpuș Gorge unique and attract countless tourists.

Located in the northern tip of Romania, the town of Sighetu Marmației is famous as the place where "the map hangs by the pin", which is why a nail-shaped monument was placed here, with a height of about two meters. The unique monument that can be seen in the historic area of ​​the city, soon became one of the main tourist attractions.
