The old wooden church "The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel" from Văleni

The wooden church "The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel" in Ulmeni dates from 1720, being rebuilt on its current site in 1895. After the relocation, the walls of the church were plastered both inside and outside and, at the same time, the turret steeple was closed. Although its tradition dates back to the late 1600s, the wooden church in Someș-Uileac was reconstructed for the third time in 1897, belonging to the Reformed religion. The settlement is small, with a modest bell tower, with a bulbous spire, covered with sheet metal. The wooden church “The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel” from Orțîța was dated dendrochronologically between the years 1782-1785. Over time it went through several restoration processes. In 2007, the turret was refurbished for the second time, returning to its original shape, on which occasion the sheet metal roof was replaced with a shingled roof. Although its antiquity is disputed by specialists, the church "The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel" in Buzești has been dated by inscription since 1799, being made of oak wood on a stone foundation. It is part of the layout specific to the Orthodox places of worship, with a porch, narthex, nave and detached altar. The bell tower was initially taller, but was rebuilt following a storm, and currently measures 22.3 m. The wooden church "The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel" in Bicaz dates from 1779, having a shingle roof and a bell tower with a sharp spire, sheltering two bells. Inside, there are still fragments of the original painting done around 1780. Erected around 1699 in Gârdani, the wooden church "The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel" was relocated to Arduzel about 70 years later. Although the edifice has a small turret, it stands out through the base of the coif which is visibly extended over the pavilion. Habra Monastery is located on the border of Groşi township and is dedicated to the "Resurrection of the Lord". Documented for the first time in 1604, the monastery closed its doors a decade later due to the support that the Romanian clergy gave to the ruler Michael the Brave (Mihai Viteazul). After centuries of believers perpetuating the legends born around the monastery, in 1990 the custom of Easter pilgrimage was resumed on the site of the former settlement, and then it was decided to rebuild the monastery. The architecture of the edifice was inspired by the model of Cozia Monastery, but with more modest dimensions.

The Baia Mare Edible Chestnut Tree Nature Reserve is a protected area of ​​national interest, located on the administrative territory of Baia Mare Municipality and the towns of Baia Sprie and Tăuții Măgherăuș. This Reserve, which covers about 500 hectares, includes areas populated with edible chestnuts, a tree strongly linked to the history of Baia Mare, first recorded in a document back in 1642. This protected area reveals to visitors the most beautiful natural spectacles in the months of June and October.

The Cornu Nedeii - Ciungii Bălăsinii protected area is part of the Maramureș Mountains Natural Park. Covering an area of ​​500 hectares, the reserve includes mountain slopes eroded by water, springs, valleys, cliffs, glacial basins, but also junipers, pastures and forests. The protected area also includes specimens of black grouse (lat. Lyrurus tetrix).
